Wallsaver

Wallsaver lets you run any screen saver as your desktop wallpaper.

Wallsaver is a clean and simple application that lets you run pretty much any screen saver as your desktop wallpaper.

Wallsaver uses OS X's built in screen saver engine.

Apple has already perfected a screen saver engine, so we saw no point in wasting time trying to write our own. Wallsaver focuses on ease of use and a clean interface.

You can use any screen saver.

Wallsaver automatically searches the three directories your Mac stores its screen savers in. Just open Wallsaver and you're ready to go. Drag and drop any screen saver into any of the directories, and Wallsaver can use it.

Wallsaver does what the other guys can't.

Wallsaver features full Front Row support, screen locking, and even lets you choose a screen saver different from the one set in System Preferences.

How do I have my screen saver start when I log in to my computer?

Wallsaver requires:	Mac OS X 10.4 or later. (Front Row options available via Wallsaver 2.3.2 and later require an Intel Mac running Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later)
	Quartz Extreme capable graphics card with at least 32 MB of memory.
	A cool screen saver.

MatrixSaver replicates the screen effects from The Matrix.

MatrixSaver is the only Matrix-style screen saver that is fully compatible with Wallsaver, allowing users to display the screen saver as their desktop wallpaper.

Requirements

MatrixSaver requires:	Mac OS X 10.4 or later with X11 installed.
	Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
	Mac OS X 10.6 or later.

Wallsaver is no longer being developed for Mac OS X Tiger.

After taking a look at some usage statistics (public version here) for Wallsaver, and noticing that less than 10% of active Wallsaver users were still running Tiger, we have decided to drop future support for the OS.

We believe it is a step in the right direction as it will allow us to maintain support for the largest number of users and to ensure that we are able to take full advantage of the latest advancements in Mac OS X.

Wallsaver 2.5 is still available

We're not leaving Tiger users out to dry, though. We will continue to provide a Tiger-compatible version of Wallsaver for all of our Tiger users, and will continue to provide support through the NWW Network Support Center whenever a Wallsaver user may need it.
